The SEO-ASA is organizing a sibling support group for siblings of special needs children.  The first session ran January through March 2008 at the Athens Public Library from 2:00 to 3:30. Responses from parents were very positive.  The sessions were facilitated by Athens Mediation Service staff.  The emphasis of Sib-Chats is to provide an environment in which children can freely share their feelings about their developmentally disabled sibling.  It is hoped that through this the children will see that they are not alone as other children have similar experiences and feelings. A second Sib-Chats series will start in the Fall of 2008.
